Since 1995, Cake Tahoe has been producing top quality wedding and speciality cakes and desserts for the Lake Tahoe area. Owner Johanna Lasseter-Curtis began her culinary studies locally then travelled to San Francisco to continue her studies at the California Culinary Academy, as well as in a private internship. She has twenty years experience as a pastry chef in some of Truckee's favorite restaurants: The Passage, Cottonwood, and Lake Tahoe Brewing Company. During that time she won four First-place awards at the Tahoe Women's Services Chocolate Festival and a People's Choice Award at the Ritz Carlton Sweet Soiree. Johanna Lasseter-Curtis continues to create specialty cakes for celebrities such as Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Nevada's former governor, Bob Miller and John Lasseter, CCO of Disney and Pixar. Each enjoyed birthday cakes created by Johanna. Johanna designed cakes for the Hollywood premiers of Pixar's Finding Nemo, Cars and The Incredibles.
